This policy explains what information Tip Top Timber Co. (“we”, “us”) collects through tiptoptimberco.com, how we use it, who we share it with and what choices you have. It applies to this website and to the estimate requests, calls and emails that come from it.
Information You Give Us
When you request an estimate, call us or email us, you give us information so we can respond and do the work. Depending on how you contact us, that includes:
- Your name
- Your phone number and email address
- The address of the property where the work is needed
- A description of the work, and any photos or details you choose to send
You do not have to provide this information to browse the site, but we cannot prepare an estimate without a way to reach you and a property to look at.
Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, this site collects some information automatically when you visit, using cookies and similar technologies:
- Device and browser details, such as browser type, operating system and screen size
- Your IP address and the general location it indicates (city or region, not your street address)
- The pages you view, how long you stay, what you click and the site or ad that brought you here
- Actions such as tapping a phone number or submitting the estimate form
How We Use Information
- To reply to estimate requests, schedule work and communicate with you about a job
- To run, secure and improve the website
- To understand which pages and advertisements bring in customers
- To show our advertising to people who are likely to need tree service, and to measure whether it works
- To meet legal, tax and insurance requirements
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects the automatic information described above.
We have turned on the following Google Analytics features:
- Google signals. For visitors who are signed in to a Google account and have allowed ads personalization, Google associates visit information from this site with information from that account. This gives us aggregated reports, such as age range, gender and interests of our visitors as a group, and lets us measure visits across devices. We do not see who you are from this data.
- User-provided data collection. When you submit a form, contact details you provide, such as your email address or phone number, may be sent to Google in hashed (scrambled) form. Google uses it to match the visit with a Google account so that we can measure more accurately which ads and pages lead to estimate requests.
- Ads personalization. Audiences and key events from Google Analytics may be shared with our Google Ads account so that we can show relevant advertising to people who have visited the site.
Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Google Ads and Advertising
We advertise through Google Ads. Google and its partners use cookies and similar identifiers to show our ads on Google and on other websites, including to people who have previously visited this site (remarketing), and to record when an ad leads to a call or an estimate request (conversion tracking).
We do not use sensitive information about you for advertising, and we do not build advertising audiences based on sensitive categories.
Your Choices
- Control or turn off personalized advertising from Google at My Ad Center.
- Review and delete activity that Google has associated with your Google account at My Activity.
- Stop Google Analytics from using your visits on any website by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work.
- Ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing tiptoptimber@yahoo.com or calling (586) 651-5488.
Who We Share Information With
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only with companies that help us run the business and the website:
- Google (Analytics, Tag Manager, Ads and Fonts), for the measurement and advertising described above
- Jotform, which provides and stores the estimate request form
- Hostinger, which hosts the website and delivers it through its content delivery network
- Meta, when the site displays our Instagram or Facebook content or you follow a link to those pages
These companies handle information under their own privacy policies. We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect our rights, our crew or our customers.
How Long We Keep Information
We keep estimate and job records for as long as we need them to serve you and to meet tax, legal and insurance requirements. Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings in our Google Analytics account and is then deleted automatically.
Security
The site uses encryption (HTTPS), and access to customer information is limited to the people who need it. No website or method of storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
This website is intended for adults who own or manage property. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Where We Operate
Tip Top Timber Co. is located in Michigan and serves customers in Southeastern Michigan. Information collected through this site is processed in the United States.
Changes to This Policy
If we change how we collect or use information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
